PROGRAMME PEDAGIQUE

– Eveil Scientifique (flore, faune, phénomènes naturels, etc.)

 Education Programme

Kidzy Preschool provides a program especially suited to the needs of the child.  The Kidzy’s method of education offers the environment in which the child can build his/her future success and happiness.

In our stress-free environment, the child experiences learning as a fun process. Each child has freedom of choice to work undisturbed in a group or individual setting. The children become harmonious in movement, independent in work and caring, honest and helpful with one another.

Kidzy gives the children an atmosphere of a homelike environment, allowing close and warm working relationships to be formed. The children develop independence, self-confidence, and self-discipline and learn skills needed for higher education.

It is the goal of Kidzy to help this generation of children to be the positive future of our world based upon their own abilities and talents, to communicate effectively using the three languages, and to develop the sensitivity to the cultures of people all over the world.

One of the first Kidzy’s goals in the young child is to develop a strong and realistic sense of independence and self – reliance. Along with love and a stable environment, this is the child’s greatest need. This area of the curriculum focuses on developing skills that allow the child to effectively control and deal with the social and physical environment in which he lives. There is a growing pride in being able to “do it for myself”.

Practical life begins as soon as the young child enters the school and continues throughout the curriculum to more and more advanced tasks appropriate for the oldest students.

Language cannot be limited to activities in one specific area because it is constantly running parallel with other activities throughout the classroom. Conversations and naming activities are constantly enriching each child’s individual vocabulary.

Writing begins with indirect preparation using the metal insets, and peaks when children begin to write independent sentences.

The math materials are designed to allow the child to explore a concept in the concrete form. The sequence of presentation begins with simple to complex and moving from concrete to abstract. Children will progress through concepts at their own developmental rate. The materials themselves contain the pattern for presentation as well as understanding.

Our children live in an international community. Attitudes toward people who have different skin color, language, clothing, songs and food are more important than ever. Through the geography materials in Kidzy’s classroom we can expose the young child to different cultural experiences and bring the world into the reach of their grasp. Whether physical, cultural or political geography each child can find a multitude of fascinating activities suitable for their age level to explore the world on different levels.

Plants and animals are an important part of the child’s everyday life. While learning about botany and zoology, the child is also developing an affinity with the life forms he encounters in his environment. Basic science experiments are presented to small groups but the children can explore many physical science activities according to their level of development and interest.

Art work and artistic appreciation encourage the child to view many aspects of the objective, or real world around him with care and intensity. It is an important means of expression for the young child and there is a wide range of materials available for him to explore

Children move naturally to rhythms and enjoy dancing, singing and playing instruments. Aside from the structured “circle time” and weekly music lessons, children can choose from many different cassettes, cd’s and instruments to foster their love for music

Children live in a world of senses: color, size, dimension, shape, form, sound, texture, flavor, and smell. To enable them to continue their creative journey of development, we need to help them identify, classify and express the impressions they are receiving through their senses. Not only do the Kidzy’s sensorial materials expose the children to new sensory experiences, but they connect them with the vocabulary that corresponds with these impressions.
